Great trail. Cyclists & TONS of hikers. Trails are smooth and well kept. Awesome views of the valley below. Wish the graffiti could be cleaned up, but nice hike overall with a huge park near the entrance.

Nestled atop Mount Rubidoux in Riverside, California, the Peace Tower is a striking monument that symbolizes unity and serenity. Visiting the tower is more than just a hike—it’s a journey through history, breathtaking scenery, and a moment of reflection amidst the beauty of nature.

The hike to the Peace Tower is moderate and incredibly rewarding. There are multiple trails leading to the summit, but the paved main path is the most popular, making it accessible for walkers, joggers, and families alike. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning panoramic views of Riverside, with the city sprawling out below and the San Gabriel Mountains creating a dramatic backdrop. If you time your visit during sunrise or sunset, the colors are nothing short of magical.

When we reached the Peace Tower, we were awestruck by its charm and historical significance. Constructed in 1925, the tower commemorates the signing of the Treaty of Ghent and stands as a tribute to peace. Its unique Mission Revival-style architecture, complete with an adjoining bridge, is both timeless and inspiring. Standing beneath the arch, you can’t help but feel a sense of calm and introspection.

One of the things that makes this spot so special is the sense of community. We met locals who shared stories about the tower’s history and its importance to Riverside. It’s also a popular destination for those who want to take a break from the bustle of life and enjoy a peaceful moment.

After exploring the tower, we spent some time admiring the nearby World Peace Bridge and taking photos. From here, you can take in an uninterrupted view of the cross atop Mount Rubidoux and the surrounding landscape, which is dotted with wildflowers in the spring and framed by the golden hues of Southern California’s hills.

Tips for Visiting:
• Go early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the midday heat and enjoy the best lighting for photography.
• Wear comfortable shoes and bring water. While the trail is paved, it’s still a steady incline to the top.
• Take your time. The hike isn’t just about reaching the summit; there are plenty of benches and scenic spots along the way where you can pause and soak in the view.
• Be mindful of the environment. Mount Rubidoux is a cherished landmark, and keeping it clean ensures its beauty for generations to come.

The Peace Tower on Mount Rubidoux is more than just a historical site; it’s a place where you can reconnect with nature, reflect on life, and be inspired by the peaceful message it represents. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this landmark is a must-see. It’s an experience that stays with you long after you leave.

Quite a climb walking up. Took the easy path and was still quite a struggle with my walker. Almost made to the top though. Beautiful views! Be sure to take water and a hat for the sun.

We took our family of 5 (and little puppy) on the hike up. We made sure to wear hoodies, jackets, and proper walking shoes. It paid off! Making it to the top to see Peace Tower was worth it.

Prepare yourself for gusty winds. Make sure your little ones hold your hand.

Enjoy the view and accomplishment of making it to the top. Enjoy the scene and take in the peace!

What a really nice hike up this big hill. All paved, a few routes, and the main one goes around the peak so that you get views of every angle of the surrounding city and countryside.
A little bummed on the amount Of tags people just have to spray on this cultural site. But worth the hike.
