We visited today and it's the number 1 activity for us in Dublin. We didn't buy tickets in advance so bought them at the gates, which was very convenient. The museum is around the Book of Kells, which is an ancient manuscript which was brought to Ireland from Scotland more than a millennia ago and preserved to this day in the Trinity college premises. The experience takes you through the history and the interesting facts on the writing and the make up of the book. With the tickets also giving access to the old Trinity library, it's a must do if you're in Dublin.

Highly recommend! Maybe I'm a closet history buff and am just realizing it, but I find aww in such history that is preserved and available for us to see today. To see art work on such a piece of it's time is beyond amazing to me.

I think people expect too much today from such exhibits because we have access to everything at our fingertips with our phones now. So much so, that they find it underwhelming because they were able to view so much of it online prior and they were expecting something different, something more.

Highly recommend booking a tour in advance and also arriving early to enter - the line can be quite long waiting. The exhibit itself was quite nice however most of the books were not on the shelf due to on-going restoration of the books which is unfortunate. You were allowed to photograph inside the library which was a change since I last visited.

The new interactive exhibit is really interesting. The Long Room is undergoing a multi-year renovation but that, too, is really interesting to learn about. These are national treasures and it’s a pleasure to experience them and learn about it all. No photos allowed of the Book of Kells itself of course.

We had been dreaming of this visit for a long time and it did not disappoint. The timed entry tickets made arrival and beginning the self guided audio tour very easy.
The audio tour through display before reaching the Book of Kells was well organized and very engaging. I really learned some things I didn't know before, and could go at my own pace
Seeing the 1200 year old book up close was so moving. Then we went upstairs to the Long Room, which was just the icing on the cake. We could have stayed there for hours
The audio guide continues there and again, is at your own pace and wonderfully informative. So happy we did this!

Our tour guide was great (a student) so offered really nice insight and knew his history . The university grounds are fine, but not really special. The book of Kells experience is very informative, you only actually see one page of the book opened ( no pictures allowed). However they have a virtual version where you can see the whole book. The library is amazing (feels a bit like something from Harry Potter). Very popular, recommend booking tickets in advance.

Way too many people cramped into a small area which ruins the experience. Majority of the books were taken out to be cleaned or restored. It’s nearly impossible to even get a good picture because of the amount of people. The cost is a bit high for the experience you get. They tried to make the experience longer by adding the separate area for some added media experience.

The Trinity college grounds are beautiful so take some time to enjoy it, it’s free!

What a neat experience! We weren’t sure exactly what it was, but learned so much about the influence of the Celtic art and the spread of Christianity through this incredibly historic book by multiple writers from ancient times. The library is under restoration, but they did an excellent job explaining why and what they are doing to record all the books currently in their library - which is all published works from Ireland and more. An amazing feat to undertake! We were very impressed! And the second half of the museum was a great interactive immersive experience! Well worth the time! Highly recommend!
