San Diego is lucky to have such a fantastic new art venue downtown in Alkaaby Fine Art! Artists' works are showcased in a gallery space that highlights the art without overlooking 'creature comforts' for patrons...especially the well-appointed restroom with the most exquisite perfumed candles from France! My most recent visit to the gallery was delightful! I appreciate the modern interior, and that it avoids feeling cold or bland. Simple elegance seems to have been a goal of those designing the gallery space, and they achieved it in spades! Alkaaby Fine Art offers an inviting atmosphere that feels both chic and accessible. As a bonus, before you enter the gallery, there is a charming little courtyard that transports one away from the hustle & bustle of downtown. It prepares you to focus on the art. The gallery is adorned with beautiful pieces and offers a selection of wine and appetizers during events, which adds to the sophisticated experience. The staff are approachable and enthusiastic about the art, eager to share insights and answer questions. Khalid Alkaaby makes himself available without hovering or giving off airs of condescension. I deeply appreciate his demeanor and that of the staff, especially after not always encountering similar good attitudes at some of Southern California's more well-known galleries. I'm excited to return to Alkaaby Fine Art for future events and possibly take their art classes!

Alkaaby Fine Art is the newest Fine Art Gallery in the Gaslamp. Khalid Alkaaby is a talented artist who paints both Abstract and Figurative paintings in oil. The gallery is hidden from the street with a beautiful courtyard with olive trees. Alkaaby hosts Gallery Nights once a month to allow collectors access to his private Atelier and Gallery. He has created "The Salon" a place for art collectors, artists, students and intellectuals to gather, drink French wine and to discuss philosophy and the beauty of life.

Alkaaby Fine Art is a cool new gallery featuring the amazing work of Khalid Alkaaby. The first time I went there I was pleasantly surprised to find that the downtown space feels very intimate in that it has a cozy courtyard that made me feel like I was in a European city. Once inside the gallery is reminiscent of a salon from the early 20th century with interesting guests, flowing bubbles, and delicious charcuterie with the backdrop of beautiful candlelit art pieces. The ceilings soar yet the atmosphere remains very intimate and feels sophisticated. Alkaaby himself is friendly and conversational, happy to discuss his works and technique. I look forward to attending more events at the gallery and hope to get into one of their classes!

The gallery is located in the heart of downtown and has a unique vibe as you enter a cute courtyard. On nights where they have a showcase, they provided us with a beautiful charcuterie arrangement and refreshments.
The artwork is also unique with a mixture of abstract and figurative drawings/paintings. The artist is the nicest gentleman and when you meet him, he genuinely shows interest in getting to know you as a person. He explains his intention or meaning behind each piece of art and you can tell he is truly passionate about what he does. I will definitely come back to the gallery when visiting downtown.

Alakaaby Fine Art is an inviting and sophisticated space. From the refreshments to the artist’s cat who greets the on-lookers in his dapper little bow tie.
I am a proud owner of an Alakaaby piece and I love the way his artwork compliments my home and showcases the warmth and talent of this magnificent artist.
