We just redid our backyard to make it look and feel like "Maui!" It took 13 months to finish the project, and in that time we worked with many different crews. Chris and his team stood out above the rest. We put in a new saltwater pool, gas tiki torches, and a beautiful synthetic palapa, done by Chris at Baja Palapas, Inc. We are OBSESSED with our new palapa! It is a work of art!!

The whole process working with Baja Palapas, Inc. was wonderful. From the beginning, he and his wife Jennifer were very responsive. To start, Chris came to view the yard, and take measurements, then his wife got us the estimate back very timely. Chris is a General Contractor, which we felt gave us an extra peace of mind in working with him. The longest part of the palapa project was simply waiting for the material to arrive, as it was backordered for over 6+ months.This, however, wasn't a huge issue for us since we had other moving parts during yard construction. Once the materials arrived, it was probably the quickest project we've seen complete in the yard! I believe that it was done in less than 2.5 weeks, and it's a HUGE structure! He and his crew worked hard, kept the yard clean, and were extremely friendly and kind. When he wasn't there, which wasn't often, his crew was very professional and kind to my kids and I. At the beginning of the project, when his lead crew member showed us what the stain (that we had chosen) looked like, I did not like it. Instead of trying to persuade me to change my mind, which SO many other crews had done in our yard for other pieces of the project, he backed me up and said that it was 100% my choice and that they wanted me happy. I couldn't believe it!

The palapa material is gorgeous. It has a 20-25 year lifespan, which is why we chose to go the synthetic route. We paid a little more to use synthetic material, but it made more sense to us, rather than replacing it in 10 years. We get compliment after compliment on the palapa!

After the completion of the palapa, we wanted to add in lighting and fans, and hired Chris again! Then we wanted to add in turf, and we hired him to do that as well. We are so happy with everything that he did. We plan to work with him again for our next construction project. I forgot to mention that he is also such a down to earth, nice guy. He is very easy to talk to and showed interest in our young kids too while talking with my husband and I. Instead of acting like they were a burden, he was kind to each member of our family. At the end of the project, he even surprised us with a "paradise" decoration to hang in our newly completed palapa. We can't say enough about Chris and Baja Palapas, Inc. You will not go wrong choosing to work with him!

The one they built around 10 years ago now leaning. There are three 8 inches posts, two of them are leaning. I seriously doubt the wood quality. Do not fool me that the wood requires maintenance. Are you saying pull posts out every few years to “maintain”?!
Continue to call about a week, they never picked up to answer. Leave message never got back👎. For those who gave 5 stars comments, let’s check again when your more than 10k one starts to lean and never can contact Baja again!! Let’s see👎

Same review was posted on yelp, but do not know what tricks they played, my rock solid 1 star review for Baja Palapas was removed. There is also another 1 star review to Baja Palapas got removed at the same time. Let’s see if Google will be fooled!

Chris and his team have always been great. We love their work, dedication and focus on the client. Thank you for what you do. You've absolutely improved our backyard experience!

Baja Palapas and Chris Brinker build defective patio covers. Although Chris appeared to be an honest contractor who builds quality products, what he builds are leaky, defective patio covers and is a dishonest contractor who will not fix the problems he builds.

The palapa Chris Brinker built leaks whenever it rains. The first time we had a problem he promised to look at and fix the damage. He did not meet with us as promised, instead he said he was sick. Only after I said I would complain to the Better Business Bureau did he meet and sent his crew to “fix” the leak. The rood leaked the following year. He promised to meet and fix the problem, but never showed. This past winter because of the heavy rain, the problem came back. We set up a meeting and did not show. His wife, Jennifer, replied via text that he was in the hospital and would get back soon with a new meeting. He was not in the hospital and after requests to meet, he has not re-scheduled the meeting.

Chris takes your money and builds faulty products. When problems occur acts like a responsible contractor and then lies to avoid fixing the problem.

My recommendation would be to find a reliable contractor rather than have Chris and Jennifer Brinker take your money and screw you.

Have a great Palapa roof put on by Chris and his crew. Used the artificial thatch and it still looks great. Handles the wind and the rain with no problems.
