My kids have been taking classes with Jason for several months and they have learned a ton and both love his class! I'm amazed by the work they bring back after every lesson. I spent a lot of time researching art classes in the peninsula and have tried a few others but I'm not aware of any other studio that teaches realism seriously like Jason does. And he makes it fun for the kids! I also really appreciate that he is very thoughtful and honest about which of his classes is the best fit for a student. He doesn't group students strictly by age; instead, he assesses their skill level to make sure that students will be able to keep up with the rest of the group.

Mr. B has been an amazing teacher for my daughter for over two years. With his guidance, she has matured into a young artist with a real knowledge of artistic and academic techniques. In class, she works both independently and on assignments that sharpen her drawing and painting skills. The atmosphere in the studio is friendly, open, and relaxed, with a great balance of autonomy and guidance.

Besides the classes, the various camps Mr. B hosts throughout the year are fun and productive, with engaging themes kids enjoy.

Jason is an amazing art teacher. Our daughter had Jason for art teacher in 6th grade and started attending his art club camps in summer and evening events. She loved attending his art club classes - kids had community, fun making and talking about art as well as any other topics the kids wanted to discuss or joke about. When our daughter decided she wanted to apply to SOTA for visual arts we asked Jason to be her coach and help her prepare for the portfolio/application process. Jason helped build confidence in her skills while building her skills, got her into oil painting at age 12, and helped/coached her to articulate what she loves about visual arts and why she wants to pursue this discipline. Maya was accepted at SOTA for visual arts - class of 2026! We are very grateful for the community Jason Budowski has built at Bay Area Art School and all he does for the kids in our bay area community. (attached drawing was submitted for SOTA application)

Bay Area Art School is Pacifica's best kept secret. My daughter took classes at another school, which was fun and encouraging. The difference with Jason is he teaches technique. Her skills have advanced surprisingly fast. He supports and challenges students, and frankly, all the student's art work is stellar. I am amazed at what he can pull out of students.
