I had a deeply unpleasant experience at the Belk - Dunn, NC store on Labor Day, Sept 2, 2024. From the moment I walked in with my 2 family members, the staff made us feel uncomfortable. Despite passing by several employees, not one asked if we needed help. However, we were constantly followed around as if we were being watched for something other than shopping. A middle aged blonde woman, in a peach colored top (photo enclosed) went to decorate a tree. She had a frown on her face and mumbling to another Belk associate while looking at us. It's unsettling when someone seems to be watching you closely, especially if they're giving off a negative vibe.

When I finally did need help locating an item, no one was available or willing to assist. The lack of basic customer service was alarming, and it felt like we were being singled out and ignored based on our appearance (black females), which is unacceptable. The only positive part of my visit was the associate Linda at the shoe department, who was friendly while ringing up my $200+ purchase, but unfortunately, that doesn’t make up for the overall hostile atmosphere we experienced from the others.

This store seriously needs to address its customer service and discriminatory behavior. I won’t be shopping here again!

Unfortunately I did not make a purchase today. I would say that is my own fault for waiting so close to Christmas to find what I was looking for. It was very busy there with inventory low.

5/26/2024: Quick visit to get new towels for our home and our daughter for her apartment next semester in Raleigh. The Memorial Day Sale saved us more than we paid. Staff was friendly and professional.

Wonderful selection of clothing, friendly staff but slightly under staffed.
Could use some maintenance. Carts were on their last leg, the dressing room door wouldn't shut, no rack to put unwanted clothing.

Nice staff, clean and organized. But do NOT go in here if you have somewhere to be. The lines are painfully slow, slower that any other store (this is not an exaggeration). Stood in line for 30 minutes to buy one item today. Again, the woman at the register and all staff is extremely kind, but definitely move at a snails pace. I wouldn’t leave this in the review if this wasn’t a consistent issue when I shop at this location.

Barron at the Estée Lauder booth was amazing!! She went above and beyond to help me find a foundation that matches my skin tone.

They had some HUGE sales going on! Lots and lots of inventory! The parking was plentiful and very easy!!!
