We love Home & Design! We’ve been doing a ton of work on our business and they’ve been incredibly helpful every step of the way. Kestrel is wonderful at helping narrow down choices and provide helpful insight on what might look good based on her past design experience. Diana is also excellent and has installed many blinds for us and supervised countertop installs. She has a wonderful attention to detail and her finished work is always perfect. Both ladies have also been very generous with us sharing names of contractors even when it’s a part of the project we aren’t working on with them.

Susan in AP is also awesome and was very helpful making sure we got a refund check when we were unable to complete one of our projects.

All and all we love Home & Design and are loyal forever-customers!

Diana, Susan and Kestrel (named after the bird!) are AMAZING! We are building a new home in B.V. Home and Design was recommended by our architect. I sent photos of my style and Diana had samples set out of cabinets, tile granite, hard wood and carpet and she nailed it. Worked with us until we were happy with choices. Kestrel came to Colorado Springs with us and helped us pick out our granite. Susan is helping us with paint colors. I get so excited about the house when I finish visiting (or emailing, as we are building long distance).

Go elsewhere. I am now getting outstanding customer service from Custom Fit Blinds in Leadville. Salida H&D should be in the business of discerning what clients want, providing professional service, and not making time-wasting assumptions. I was constantly left in the position of seeking clarity around ambiguous communications. They never picked up the phone (I did) and kept relying on email. They made assumptions about what I wanted. Example: I wanted to replace 3 shades over 3 windows in my dining room and one of the co-owners assumed I wanted one shade, measured the window as one unit and I received a quote for a single shade. That’s not going to work and after a lot of back and forth and me providing the missing measurements I was told to take a hike. Ditto on bedroom shades. I was given quotes for features I didn’t want, even after being asked and telling them I didn’t want those features. Weeks after 3 different measuring efforts by 3 different people for bedroom shades, I was told in the fine print of the estimate that shades might not operate on a door because of shade depth and I should buy handle extenders! This never came up even once when they were on the premises (and I've been told by my current vendor the shade will work just fine). Then, I was told they couldn’t give me the shade specs when I asked for clarity, that the specs weren’t available to them. So, I called manufacturers and a shade dealer I’ve done business with, in another state, to get the necessary specs – and even shared them! But why am I doing the leg work when I’m paying a premium for “customer service”? Mind you, this whole time I bit my tongue, but grew increasingly frustrated. Then, a co-owner had the audacity to tell me over the phone and email that I could not be present in my own home when she needed to return for a field adjustment for a living room shade she previously installed. Wow! This by the same self-described “expert” installer who ended up drilling extra holes in my door and trim when shades were not level or not aligned. I discovered federal tax credits and manufacturer rebates on my own. Despite a multitude of visits, emails, phone conversations and estimates, I was never told there would be a charge for removing my existing shades, which I had to hustle in real time to do to avoid the charges. Meanwhile, weeks after the malfunctioning shade was installed I have yet to have anyone show up to adjust it, despite my confirming a date that I would be home for the adjustment. The PS on this episode is I've been called a liar in email and told they are now absolved from adjusting the shade. In 40 years of provisioning homes, I’ve never had a disrespectful, time-wasting and unprofessional experience like this.

Easy access off of US highway 50 with plenty of parking in rear of the store. Easy to do business with and a wide variety of tiles, blinds, etc. to chose from.

UNPROFESSIONAL. I was rudely told to make an appointment to come back, just to look at samples for a shower surround. I made an appointment. At the appointment a week later, I was given a box of samples to look through by myself because Diana "had something important to do, " which involved working on her computer instead of helping me DURING MY APPOINTMENT to look at samples in the shop. Then, no shows on TWO measuring appointments that I took off from work to keep. I am so done with them. I got a sob story about how she broke her foot 5 days ago, but no one bothered to contact me. Next, she called to tell me that her broken foot is why she was so rude BEFORE she broke her foot. Apparently, UNPROFESSIONALISM sets in with Diana prior to breaking bones and only gets worse when she does.

Bought my Blinds there a couple of years ago and recently 1 of the 7 I purchased the pull string came loose. I contacted them about it and they had me bring it in to be repaired. Great service!
