Brilliant - large gallery of art through the ages. I had an hour so I did the recommended tour. Entry was FREE and the tour guide was FREE - and what a collection. It was quiet and a wonderful way to spend a hour. Don’t miss if you love art

The National Gallery is definitely worth a visit. They exhibit many interesting works by lesser-known artists. It was enjoyable because the artworks were very well lit. We also saw some wonderful works by world-famous artists of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It is very good that the tour is free. The minus is that you couldn't put your wardrobe anywhere.

It was my first time visiting an art museum.
Since they have a free guided tour, It helped me to gain some basic knowledge about different styles of painting. You can visit the website regarding the timing of free guided tour. Also they do have a creative space for drawing which is more interesting. The architecture and floor plan of the museum is also amazing. There is a cafeteria as well as a stationery shop, It has many things including scarfs, fridge magnet, books, postcard, soft toys and so on.

The staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. The collection itself is remarkable, featuring stunning works by both international and Irish artists. Highlights for me included Van Gogh’s “Rooftops in Paris”, a captivating piece that beautifully showcases his signature style, and William John Leech’s “A Convent Garden”, which is absolutely enchanting.

In addition, the gallery houses masterpieces by renowned artists like Manet and Vermeer, offering a wonderful opportunity to see world-famous works up close.

With its diverse collection, relaxing atmosphere, and free admission, I would totally recommend a visit to the National Gallery of Ireland. It’s a must-see for anyone visiting Dublin! 🙂

Very nice and comprehensive collection. Some very nice modern art and also huge pictures of all sorts across the world. Good lockers for free for your bag but get in early. Cafe smells amazing.
