She gave us direction with a gentle hand that was so invaluable to us inexperienced posers! She was so helpful with setting the timeline of the day and helping keep us on schedule. Truly an invaluable asset to our wedding! I love every single photo! She has a great eye for getting the best backdrops and lighting. We got plenty of amazing staged portraits and candid style photos. Photography was very important to me when planning my wedding and I am so happy they turned out even better than I expected! I cannot say enough about Danieka and Picturist Photography. She shot our wedding in November at Roaring Camp in Felton and far exceeded our expectations. My husband and I were nervous about being photographed and being posed for pictures but she made it so easy and enjoyable for us. She had us make a Pinterest board with inspiration pictures and she nailed the vibe we were going for. The photos from the wedding were better than we could have hoped for. I cannot recommend Danieka highly enough! I read an article that said you should hire people who feel like friends so you are happy to have them there on your wedding day. Danieka met with me before we had signed any paperwork and answered all of my questions, then sent occasional, incredibly helpful emails, packed with advice on wedding timelines etc. so that I could fee prepared. She also recommended some other vendors. On the day she was really nice, sweet, and struck a great balance between getting photos of us, while ensuring we moved quickly so that we could enjoy our day. Her work is wonderful. When we did our site visit with her, she was a great partner in brainstorming what shots we wanted where. Day-of she was such a joy - she was so happy for us, helped us get centered and calm before the ceremony, and was totally stealth-mode throughout the whole night - I didn't even notice her during the ceremony! And the photos <3 ... so incredibly beautiful!! Not only were all of our portraits and group shots stunning, she is an expert at candid shots. Here is the truth NOBODY tells you when you are searching for a wedding photographer: EVERYONE has an awesome portfolio. Sure, they will differ here and there...but that is what that first phone call is SO incredibly important. From our very first call, I KNEW Danieka was the photographer for us.

She had an amazing portfolio full of images where couples, set in front of impossibly beautiful backdrops still stood out. You can literally FEEL her photos. But what was so apparent to me was just how MUCH she intended to be part of this whole journey with us so that we could enjoy the day knowing she was going to be capturing so many moments that we would miss in the blur of our own excitement and celebration.

She was flexible -- and in an age of COVID and crazy planning, I can't stress ENOUGH how important flexibility and empathy has been -- and really focused on what WE wanted. Unlike other photographers we talked to, Danieka was more concerned about our style, our goals and what we wanted...so that she could bring ideas that would make every moment OURS. While others just sent us previous portfolios...Danieka was sending us examples of sets and set ups from editorial spreads along with examples of other amazing moments she had created with other couples.

On the day, she was in all the spots to capture all THE moments with her eye for every ounce of joy and celebration.

I can't say enough about Danieka other than this...you WILL NOT REGRET having Danieka be part of your day. She isn't just there to snap photos that look like everyone else's wedding album. She is there to capture YOU and all the joy, laughter and special moments that will happen between you and your friends and loved ones.
